POINTERS & TIPS FOR ESTATE PLANNING

Who will raise my children if we both die? – If you have children under 18 this clause will be automatically added.
At what age should the kids receive their inheritance? – This is mentioned in the Will and at an age you specify.
What happens if we all die? – We offer a total failure clause in your Will where you nominate family or friends in the event this should occur.
Who should make medical decisions on my behalf if I am unable? – Ask for an Enduring Power of Guardianship.
Who should make financial decisions on my behalf if I can’t? – Ask for an Enduring Power of Attorney.
What do I need if I am terminal and wish to be allowed to die? – We give all our clients a complimentary Living Will.
Our lives are a moving feast so to make things easier for your executor we suggest the following:
Place a list either simple dot points or a spreadsheet noting your assets and liabilities with your Will. Remember NEVER ATTACH any documents to your Will. Simply place alongside.
This list can be as simple as a quick note stating for example – ANZ bank accounts, superannuation with Australian Super, shares with FMG, Toyota Kluger; Money owing – mortgage with ING. List loan number.
Other Things to Consider…
Request a trusted family member or friend close down our social media and email accounts.
The important factors to consider when making a Will are to select someone you trust as your executor and have a list set aside of your assets and liabilities and the account numbers.
